Allan's first tattoo was a Koi Fish, he spent many years contemplating the perfect image. In Japan, Koi fish symbolizes good fortune, perseverance in adversity and strength. In other cultures, it also symbolizes courage. This series of paintings were created on wood panel which is different from canvas and it provided Allan a unique way to manipulate paint. It encouraged intuition and spontaneity that is apparent in the finished product. Enjoy and I hope they find a special place in your heart.
